Today will be dry and sunny across the region as we are north of a front that will stall in Oklahoma. How the potential for severe storms plays out tomorrow is uncertain. While we know low-level moisture will be on the increase, between a decent amount of capping and the possibility of low-level clouds hanging on through the day we’re going to call the severe weather chance conditional. If storms can get going and remain separated, there will be a window of tornado risk in south central Kansas around and after sunset. Otherwise the main risk tomorrow will be large hail up to baseball size. If storms line out, wind would become a grater damaging factor.
We take a break Friday, then return with a severe storm chance Saturday afternoon and evening before high pressure moves in and effectively ends the severe weather season for 2024 in most of the state.
