Kansans often joke about what other regions of the country consider high wind. Today and tomorrow will be no joking matter when it comes to the wind in Kansas. Frequent gusts above 50mph are expected with some gusts above 60 or even 70mph. A very strong low pressure center is deepening over Iowa and southern Minnesota, and we’re getting the wind around the back side of that low. The low doesn’t move much after midday today, as it continues to be blocked from moving east by a strong high pressure area. See our latest Storm Update for details.
