A great Memorial Day weekend on the way, with sunny sky and breezy conditions developing. Some severe weather possible Memorial Day.

The bulk of the Memorial Day weekend will be sunny and hot, but chances for storms return Monday afternoon through late Tuesday. Humididty will flow in from the south much of this weekend, leading to somewhat muggy conditions by Monday. The Storm Prediction Center is forecasting a large area of storms Monday afternoon through overnight extending form the Dakotas south and west into Kansas and northwest Oklahoma. Forecasters say there is a 30% chance for severe weather in an area including Dodge City, Pratt, Great Bend, Hutchinson and Salina. If you’ll be out on area lakes this weekend, be sure to take a battery-powered weather radio with you and stay weather-aware on Memorial Day.
