KSStorm.Info Briefing: May 23, 2022

A wet few days are on the way for most of the state. Even areas suffering from drought will see meaningful rainfall, while the southeastern third of the state sees potentially flooding rains.

A very slow-moving system will bring widespread rainfall to the region, with heavy rain likely late tonight into tomorrow and some flooding possible. Areas southeast of a Lindsborg to Ashland line are under a flood watch, meaning conditions are expected to be right for some creek and low land flooding, along with flash flooding during the heavier storms. Forecast rainfall totals look like this: One to three inches southeast of an Ellsworth to Greensburg line, while higher rainfalls are possible southeast of an Emporia to Medicine Lodge line. Last half of the week and the holiday weekend will be warm with a chance for storms entering by Memorial Day.
