A two-day rain event holds the promise of widespread rain to most of Kansas. Highest totals in the southeast, where some flooding is possible.

It has been a long time since we’ve had the chances for widespread soaking rainfall across Kansas. Today and tomorrow should see multiple rounds of rain in most of the state. Here’s a look at totals as forecast by one of the weather models:

Our neighbors to the south in Oklahoma and Texas have a potentially significant severe weather event coming this afternoon.

ok swody1Tomorrow a conditional chance for low-end severe weather exists during the afternoon. Dry weather still looks to be the theme this weekend, with almost summery conditions for Mother’s Day and Monday. We could see some more rain and even severe weather as we get into next week.
