***WINTER STORM WATCH AND WINTER STORM WARNING UNTIL 6 PM THURSDAY***
Interesting developments in the latest model runs as I write this just before 3am. The trend in the last few hours has been downward for Hutchinson and points west, while drastically upward for points east. The 1am model runs showed snowfall for Hutch of 1-3″ while driving Wichita up to the 10-13″ range, one model even showing 20″ from central Sedgwick county to southeast Harvey county. MAYBE the models are picking up on the expected mesoscale bands, and I’ve had thunder off and on the past 3 hours at my house in Haysville so that would be consistent.
Current Warnings (as of 2:20am)
